Student Computer Center in Hinche.
Chemen Lavi in partnership with the University of the People (www.uopeople.org) - a tuition free online University established in the United States that caters to developing countries by providing quality higher education for free or at extremely low costs to applicants - OCL will establish a Student Computer Center in Hinche.
The proposed Student Computer Center would allow qualified Haitian students who live in Central Plateau to access University of the People. The Mayor of Hinche has procured a building for the Student Computer Center, which will ultimately respond to the needs of these young high school graduates in the Central Plateau.
The learning center will be equipped with computers and high speed Internet connection to enable students to have access to University of the People's online courses. OCL will ensure that a support staff is in place to facilitate the smooth operation of the learning centers.
This project is designed to accept 100 qualified Haitian students to study online to earn an Associate's Degree in either Business Administration or Computer Science.
OCL is currently looking for funding to implement this project.
