About Chemen Lavi
Chemen Lavi (formerly Haiti's Hope Foundation) is a Haitian non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit organization founded in Haiti in June 2000 by a group of young professionals and religious students. The founders of the organization believe that the construction of a new Haiti can be started only by an integrated approach focused on education, training, improving literacy in marginalized communities and the strengthening of management capabilities.
Mission
OCL’s mission is to motivate and allow the youth of Haiti to reach their educational and career goals by providing a long-term scholarship program and enrichment with an assured opportunity for higher education.
OCL promotes and develops partnerships that focus on educating the youth of rural communities in Haiti so they can become self-sufficient and improve living conditions and socio-economical conditions for generations to come.
The OCL scholarship program contributes to the growth of Haiti’s professional class and seeks to change Haiti’s long-standing inequities and rigid class structure.
Objective
OCL’s objective is to help the Haitian people to get a better education. Currently, its area of action includes the Haut-Plateau-Central region. For more than nine years, OCL has maintained relationships with local organizations and territorial communities with a view to contribute to education.
Through our dedicated effort and determination, we hope to bring about a change that will ensure to mold the future Haiti into a glorious and thriving nation.
