Organization Chemen Lavi (OCL), in its mission to motivate and allow the youth of Haiti to reach their educational and career goals, has for a long time been concerned about the lack of a post-secondary school in Central Plateau. Each year thousands of young people finish their high school studies in Central Plateau and would like to have access to a post-secondary academic center that would allow them to better prepare themselves for their future through a higher education.
Within this context, working together with other institutions, OCL will establish a Student Computer Center in Plateau Central.
The proposed Student Computer Center would allow qualified Haitian students who live in the area to access quality education and training. The Mayor of Hinche has procured a building for the Student Computer Center, which will ultimately respond to the needs of these young high school graduates in the Central Plateau.
The learning center will be equipped with computers and high speed Internet connection to enable students to have access to University of the People's online courses. OCL will ensure that a support staff is in place to facilitate the smooth operation of the learning centers.
This project is designed to accept 100 qualified Haitian students to study online to earn an Associate's Degree in either Business Administration or Computer Science. OCL is currently looking for funding to implement this project.
